Roundwood

Roundwood is the highest village in all of Ireland. Nestling at the start of the northern slopes of the Wicklow Mountains, the village is located on a plateau which is 238 metres above sea level, nestled beside the nearby Varty Reservoirs.

The village of Roundwood has all the services you expect with a variety of restauraunts, bars, supermarket and other stores. Both GAA and soccer have clubs located within the village. Up to 2GB of broadband is available in the Roundwood area.

Roundwood has a close association with two former Presidents of Ireland, Seán T. O’Kelly who lived locally, and Erskine Hamilton Childers, who, with other family members, is buried in the churchyard near the village.

Roundwood is located where the R755 road joins the R764 and R765. The R755 is part of the main route from Dublin to Glendalough in the Wicklow Mountains
